DATE: 7/14/10. "Monday" a very sweet 36 pound, 6 mos old Blue female Standard Poodle needs an understanding & patient home. Good with dogs, has severe seperation anxiety, housebreaking & crating issues. We are working on all of the above with her and self control with cats. She is doing well here with our & the Daycare dogs, she requires an owned home with daily exercise to blow off her "poodley" energy which will help ease her behavioral & anxiety issues. She was a very missunderstood puppy in her prior home. She enjoys the water & shows a desire in retrieving. Currently she needs a fair & consistent owner who can remain aloof in their initial weeks/months of training & ownership of her, she will require "umbilical method" of training when allowed loose in the home untill she understands all that may be expected of her. Current level is ZERO and she is being treated and handled as an 8 week old. She will excel with positive reinforcement training & clicker work with a "nothing in life is free" concept. She has been started on glucosamine, MSM, melatonin & herbal modalities. Doggie Daycare & private training can be offered at reduced rate for this girl to assist her in being an emotionally balanced family companion. Swimming & brisk daily walks with a lightly weighted back pack could be in her near future. Initially, she will need a home with eyes & ears on her 100% of the time. Currently, this girl is 100% Special Needs and will be imperative that new owner follow behavioral modifaction advice to the "T" for her to succeed. We cannot set her up to fail at this age. Adoption fee will include current vaccination's & spay. Accepting Adoption Application's from potential owner within a 1 hour drive of Merrimac, MA. You can EMAIL Bonnie for adoption application: BB@ADOPTHOMELESSPAWS.ORG
ARNIE is a 4 year old, red and rust, natural and docked male whose owners said he needed more time and space to run free. They reported he blows through their Invisible Fence and bolts out of doors and gates. Arnie is very food motivated and will counter surf. He loves eating bananas and enjoys picking pears and apples right off the trees. Arnie has a strong prey drive towards squirrels, rabbits and chipmunks as well as the occasional motorcycle. He has lived with a sturdy cat and frequented dog parks without incident. Arnie will plow down small children but he does stay off the furniture. He needs an outlet for his energy and some obedience training for his selective listening issues. CONTACT:

ADOLPHO is a 9 year old, blue and rust, cropped and docked male who was left in a county shelter with little hope for a bright future. Thanks to SSNAP, he is getting healthy at DRU. Adolpho needed treatment for a painful urinary tract infection, Lyme Disease and is now receiving medication for his hypothyroidism. The old guy is feeling better every day. If given a chance, Adolpho will drop his big head into an available lap, look up from his furrowed brow and furiously wag his nub. He has the "Doberman poke" down to a science. Adolpho is a gentle, old soul who deserves a home. Warning! Adolpho does not like cats. CONTACT:

Kasey is “the perfect companion” according to her foster home. This black and tan GSD has endeared herself to her foster mom in the short time she has been with GSRNE. She is a loving and attentive GSD that seeks to please and adapts well to changes in routine. Kasey was brought up from the south by a New England shelter. She was originally adopted out to a family here in New England. The family was immediately taken by Kasey’s calm and gentle demeanor and her desire to be by her family’s side. However, it did not take Kasey’s family long to notice that she experienced noticeable discomfort when their young children sought to cuddle with her and placed weight on her hips. Wanting to find a good home for this gorgeous GSD, her adoptive family turned to GSRNE for help. For more Info on Kasey CLICK HERE CONTACT:

Danika is a beautiful four year-old female GSD that had been with her original owners from the time she was a young puppy. However, a change in the family’s situation made it so they were no longer about to keep their beloved GSD. Saddened at the prospect of giving up Danika and wanting to find a good match for her, the family called GSRNE to see if we could help find her a new loving home.
