"Supporting Deployed Service Members and The Mascots They Love"

Saying Good Bye to a friend and saying Hello...
On 1 November I had to say Good-Bye to a loyal friend and on 5 November we said hello to "Itchy", a soldier's loyal friend as he arrived in the US from Iraq.

Morgan was my loyal companion of almost 12 years, but on Monday morning her eyes told me it was her time to have to say good-bye. Morgan came into my life when she was born at the foot of my bed when her mom was surrendered to my shelter pregnant. Morgan was bottle fed from birth because her mom refused to feed her, she battled many health issues but her will to thrive is why I always fought with her. Morgan is greatly missed and was a loyal friend, I can only hope Itchy's soldier will have as many good years with his friend as I was able to share with mine.

Welcome home Itchy - Rest in Peace Morgan.

Here's Itchy hanging out with Eva who cleared customs with him. Eva took him along for the ride to the pet supply store where he made many instant friends. Sara, Robin, April & Buddy helped welcome Itchy to the US with his own Christmas "paw sock" full of goodies for him!

Itchy stayed over night with Eva before she sent him on his second flight for home. Eva, once again - thank you for always being there to greet mascots when called upon - you are amazing!
With the comforts of Eva's sofa and his own chew bone!

Itchy as a pup in Iraq, he was found by his soldier as he was being dragged through the streets by young boys who had tied wire around his neck and had caused him a leg injury. With months of TLC and vet care, Itchy finally made it home.
In Morgan's Memory
Please consider making a donation to Military Mascots in Morgan's memory. Please visit the "Meet Mascots" page to view photos of Soldier's & their loyal friend's and help them bring them home. Your donations are a small way to say thank you for all they sacrifice.

For those who knew my recent worries with Morgan, thank you for your kind words and your support.

It is my Morgan who you see on all Mascot items for sale, as she was my mascot for many years :-)

Rest in Peace Morgan - Till we meet again!
One Marine and one little pup named Emma
Emma's Marine in Afghanistan writes:

"One night one of my Marines comes off post with this miniature, soaking wet, barely alive puppy in the palms of his hands. He said to me "Corporal, she was crying and stuck in the barbed wire last night. I didn't see her mother anywhere and I couldn't leave her there to die." So I took her off his hands and named her Emma. Needless to say I have fallen in love with this baby girl and would very much like to take her back home."

Like Sassy & Dee who made it home in September, Emma's export from Afghanistan will exceed $3,000.00 - she will require 2 flights, export expenses and boarding fees in 2 Countries before she can make it to the US.

If you would like to help Emma come home to her Marine's family, please mention her name when making a donation.
