Johnny ~ Retired Military Dog
Johnny is a 10
year old Military Working Dog who has served in Afghanistan, Iraq,
and Lebanon. Johnny will be retired from his active military duties
due to a torn ligament in his leg. Johnny's Handler would like to
adopt him in his retirement and have his leg repaired. Johnny
will need surgery where his leg is broken and then reset at a
different angle to alleviate the pressure on his leg. Tuffs
University can perform the needed surgery for $2,600.00 We would
like to help Johnny be as comfortable as possible in his retirement
years. If you would like to donate towards Johnny's surgery and
continued health needs, please mention him by name when visiting the
donation page. http://militarymascots.org/donate.html
THANK
YOU!

REGARDING THE BOOK,
"From Baghdad, With
Love" I
finally found free time this week to sit down and read the book by
Lieutenant Colonel Jay Kopelman, "From Baghdad, with Love".
Unfortunately, Chapter 21 in the book made a false statement
that I, (Military Mascots), "use to smuggle dogs out on military
flights by having them drugged, so they wouldn't be
noticed." This statement made is 100% False. I was
horrified to see these comments in the book! To set the record
straight...At no time have I or any person affiliated with Military
Mascots instructed any Service Member's to drug their pets to get
them onto flights out of Iraq or any other Country. The facts
are, I have spoken with a few soldier's in the past who told me they
had become desperate enough to consider drugging their pets in an
attempt to get them onto their own military flights as they
redeployed for home. I instructed those Soldier's NOT TO ATTEMPT
these measures. No pets have been drugged or smuggled onto
Military flights through this effort. Every Mascot has been shipped
via Commercial Airlines into the US. Thank you, Bonnie

Soldier's
Pets need Immediate Foster Homes
We
received this email from a Soldier stationed at Hunter Army Air
Field in Savannah, GA. Jamie will be deploying to in less than a
week, her husband will then join her in Iraq from Korea. I am a
soldier deploying in less than a week, and the home i had set up for
my animals to stay during my rotation is unavailable now! I would
very much love to keep my pets, but am at a loss. I have 2 cats and
one dog. D.A. is a gray and white female cat, 3 years old, slender,
intelligent and "sand box" trained. Chloe, is only 10 months old,
she is a beautiful calico, wonderfully mannered, "Sand Box" trained
and very playful, she has been raised by me since she was born and
has been surrounded by people and animals. Cracker Jack, is
an American Rat Terrier. CJ has been a wonderful companion.
Non-aggressive toward any animals, but playful. He is very hyper and
despite my attempts to break him of his jumping, he just can't help
himself, he loves to jump in the air when excited as though he is on
a trampoline. He is house trained, and is very loyal. If he feels as
if the caretaker is in danger of being harmed, he politely nips the
aggressor in the heel as if to say excuse me, but that is enough
now. CJ is about 21/2 years old, My husband, myself and my 9 month
old son love him dearly. Please help me find either loving homes or
temporary homes for my furry family. If you can foster
either of these pets for the next 15-20 Months, please email Bonnie

& The Last The first to sense the hostility of a suspect,
The first to react to protect his master. The first to enter where

The first to know his master's sorrow or fear. The first to give his
