Rescue Stories!

Thru- out the years I have rescued literally hundreds of animals ( domestic & wild)...within this page you will simply find some of those rescues and stories as sad or as happy as they may be.

This pathetic looking creature is Norton AKA: Nortie. His story is long, but the end result was: Rainbow Bridge. Norton, was a male Rottweiler we rescued weighing in at a mere 44 pounds at 10 mos. old, with severe hip dysplasia as well as 2 torn cruciate tendons and a fracture to his back right hock. Neglected and abused by his owners who allowed him to go more than 6 weeks in pain before seeking medical advice. We will never know the real reason why Nort had these knee or hock injuries. Once examined an x-rayed and told of the costs to help Nort, his owners choose to bring him here instead.

Sadly, on the advice of 3 different vets, we had to send poor Nort to Rainbow Bridge. Not one vet felt that his health conditions could with stand the pain and trauma he would have to go through for 4 different surgeries. Nort's fractured hock was already healed & twisted and no help could be offered, Nort walked on 3 legs never letting his weight touch on his right rear leg. His vet bills for 2 hip replacements and 2 cruciate surgeries would have been close to $8,000.00 dollars.

Nort's weight loss was most likely caused by his great levels of pain causing him to hardly eat at all. These photos trully do not show how sad, or painfully thin Nort really was on the day he came here. Notice him holding up his back right leg & look at his front legs from his weakness and compensating his weight to the front end. This poor dog was an absolute sweet heart and deserved so much more.

He layed his head quietly in my lap as he peacefully & painlessly slid away to the Bridge. I will never forget the look in his sad eyes, but I take comfort in knowing I ended his pain filled days with Peace. I won't ever forget you Nortie!

The Bruwster & Brady Boy

Bruin and Brady (left) are the result of the throw away society, that we live in...just like trash! These pups parents were bred in a back yard in Danvers, Mass. At 7 weeks old... when the so-called breeder could not sell them...he then left them at a local SPCA, that does not rescue or place Rottweilers. Bruin & Brady came here and both were adopted into wonderful homes! A happy Ending despite a terrible start in life.

Taj (right) is an 11 mos old male Rottweiler who was abused by his owners as well as the kennel that boarded him for several months allowing him to drop down to a 47 pounds when he was finally rescued by us.

Taj... you can count every rib, and even place your fingers between them!

13 weeks later Taj was adopted to a wonderful family here in Mass. topping the scales at 98 pounds.
